About SyTech

A Different Kind of Records Partner. Since 2000.

Most vendors sell public agencies another platform to license and maintain. Since 2000, SyTech has done the opposite. We build records management inside the cloud you already own, so you pay for the work, not someone else's software. Below is what makes that approach different, and how we got here.

Why SyTech

What Makes SyTech Different.

Public agencies have plenty of options for records and forms software. SyTech's approach is structured around five core differentiators that change the economics, security posture, and long-term flexibility of every engagement.

01 — PLATFORM APPROACH

No New Software Required

SyTech builds inside Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace — platforms your agency already owns and funds. There is no new app to procure, license, or maintain.

02 — DATA SOVEREIGNTY

Your Data Stays in Your Cloud

No vendor-controlled servers. Your records, forms, and workflows live in your agency's own cloud tenant. Your security policies govern your data — always.

03 — SERVICES MODEL

Services, Not Licenses

SyTech is a partnership, not a subscription. We combine connective tools with hands-on implementation, workflow configuration, and ongoing support — structured around outcomes, not seat counts.

04 — FUTURE-PROOF

Native AI and Automation

Because we build inside your existing cloud, you get native access to Microsoft Copilot, Power Automate, and Azure capabilities — no vendor add-ons, no custom integrations to maintain.

05 — PROVEN AT SCALE

25+ Years of Experience

Twenty-five years of public sector records work, at every scale, from single districts to statewide departments. Thousands of active cloud clients and millions of records under management. We have not just done this before. We have done it bigger.

Our Point of View

Your records shouldn't be locked behind someone else's license.

For 25 years, we have watched agencies spend budget on annual software fees only to find their records buried inside platforms they don't control. Our approach is the opposite. We build records management inside the cloud platforms your agency already owns and funds — Microsoft 365, Google Workspace. The software vendor changes. The contract ends. Your records stay where they belong: in your tenant, under your governance, accessible on your terms.

Questions We Often Hear

Questions Worth Asking Before You Buy More Software.

Do we need to license another platform to modernize our records?

No. SyTech builds inside the cloud platforms your agency already owns — Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace. There is no new app to procure, no additional license to fund, no second login for your staff to manage. The capability is already in your tenant. We turn it on and configure it around how your team actually works.

We already have a document management system. Why change?

Most agencies are paying annual fees on systems that were built for a different era — closed platforms that don't connect to the cloud tools your staff use every day. We move your data out of those systems and into open cloud platforms, then build records management around the licenses you already fund. The result: one platform, lower recurring cost, full data portability.

Can we really build records management inside Microsoft 365 or Google?

Yes — and most agencies have no idea their current cloud subscription already supports it. Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace are not just productivity tools; they are extensible records and data platforms. The capability is there. What is usually missing is the implementation work, governance setup, and workflow configuration. That is the work we do.

What are best practices for our records and data going forward?

Move information into open, extensible cloud platforms. Avoid closed, hierarchical software that forces your processes to match its structure. Build retention, security, and workflow around your agency — not around a vendor's product roadmap. The cloud you already own can do all of this. Most agencies just need a partner who has done it across 4,579 cloud clients.

Security and compliance get their own page, with the cameras, agreements, and certificates spelled out.

Our Story

From Paper to Cloud, One Agency at a Time.

Since 2000, SyTech has provided digital transformation services for hundreds of public agencies across California — school districts, county offices, statewide departments. We have never been in the business of reselling proprietary software. From the start, our work has been to help agencies move their records and data into open, extensible cloud platforms — and to spend their budgets on outcomes instead of licenses.

Twenty-five years later, that approach has produced 4,579 active cloud clients, 10.7 million records under management, and a client roster that includes some of the largest public agencies in the state.

A Cloud-First Practice — Since 2002

We Built Our First Cloud Deployment Before "Cloud" Was the Word for It.

In 2002, we built our first native cloud records management solution for Stockton Unified School District — years before the rest of the industry moved off on-premise servers. That early bet shaped everything that followed.

Since then, we have built thousands of cloud-based records and data services for public agencies across California, including Los Angeles County, the California Department of Child Support Services, the California Department of Natural Resources, and Yolo County District Attorney's Office. Open cloud was the right path then. It is the only path now.

How We Are Built

Two Teams, One Mission.

SyTech is structured around two internal teams that work together to deliver every engagement. One handles the hands-on work of moving information. The other builds the systems that make that information useful for years to come.

01 — Services Team

Hands-On Records Work

Our Services Team handles the heavy lifting: scanning, structuring, and migrating information from paper and legacy systems into modern cloud platforms. They are the practitioners who turn clutter into compliant, indexed records.

02 — Development Team

Cloud-Native Tools

Our Development Team builds scalable tools that replace outdated software, using the cloud platforms our clients already own. Forms, workflows, and automation that live inside Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace, not on a vendor server.

Our Mission

From Complexity to Clarity.

SyTech delivers practical, future-ready services that reduce complexity, lower costs, and help public agencies work smarter. Through our proven approach, Organize. Unify. Scale., we help organizations move confidently toward the future of open cloud, automation, and AI.
